Basic Life Support with AED Training

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training are critical skills that can help you save lives in emergency situations. This course provides practical, hands-on experience that simulates real-life scenarios, giving you the skills and confidence to handle emergency situations confidently and effectively.

Why is Resuscitation Education so important?

Cardiac arrest is a critical medical emergency that requires a prompt response to save lives. In the UK alone, ambulance services receive an estimated 60,000 cases of suspected cardiac arrest every year. However, resuscitation attempts are made in less than half of these cases, which is around 28,000, mainly because victims have been dead for several hours or have not received bystander CPR. Unfortunately, even when resuscitation is attempted, the survival rate is less than 10%, meaning only one in ten victims return home from the hospital.

Fortunately, there is a way to improve the survival rate of cardiac arrest victims. By training and empowering more bystanders to perform CPR and increasing the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), we can strengthen the community’s response to cardiac arrest and potentially save thousands of lives each year.
